About Me

Hey, I’m Melissa. I’m a busy homeschooling mom of 5 boys. Between school, driving kiddos to swim team practices, piano lessons, and violin and cello lessons, life in our house is chaotic at times especially because on top of everything else we foster puppies and kittens, so when I need some time to unwind after a busy day I love to get behind my machines and lose myself in sewing. I’ve been sewing seriously for 10 years but learned to sew from my grandma when I was young. I love getting to create amazing wardrobes for my kiddos and have recently become obsessed with bag-making as well. I love being a part of the sewing community and having a space like The Sewing Hub has been so amazing. I’m grateful for the inspiration I see every day and the encouragement and advice I can get from my fellow sewists. It has helped me build my skills and has helped my love and passion for this hobby to grow.

About Me

Hi, I’m Ruth. I’m a stay-at-home mama to two boys and a little girl coming soon! I’ve been sewing for 25 years. I started out with doll clothes, then costumes, and now make most of what my whole family wears. My favorite thing to sew is jeans. There’s something so satisfying about the topstitching and finishing a pair that fits well. Sewing is something that definitely grounds me in this season and it’s just an added benefit that it clothes us. I’m also a nursing mama so creating my own wardrobe with easy access has made my life so much simpler. I love being a part of a community of sewists who also are fired up about creating! It’s inspiring to create with all of you. Fun fact about me: my family is Disney obsessed and we may or may not own a 40,000 piece Disney puzzle.

About Me

Hi! I’m Megan, a sewing enthusiast who’s been stitching away for almost half my life. My journey began at the kitchen table with my mom, who taught me how to thread a needle and somehow not sew my fingers together. As I grew older, I became that person who says, 'Why buy it when I can make it?'—and then spends five times longer than expected creating it from scratch. When I started having kids, I naturally became their personal tailor, because what child doesn’t need custom-made, mom-designed outfits? Sewing isn’t just a hobby; it’s my ultimate stress-reliever—except when the bobbin runs out mid-seam, then it’s a test of patience! This past year, I decided to dive into the deep end and start designing my own patterns. It’s been a wild, creative ride, and I’m absolutely hooked. Who knew that obsessing over fabric grainlines could open up a whole new world of possibilities? So, if you need me, I’ll be somewhere between my sewing machine and a pile of fabric, living my best life… or possibly tangled in thread.

About Me

Hi, I'm Patrice! I've been sewing for 3.5 years now. During the day I work as a government contractor for Criminal Justice Programs and when the clock hits 5:00, you'll find me sewing, playing Animal Crossing, watching a true crime documentary, watching anime, and shopping for Hello Kitty merch! I'm a mom of two and wife of a Physics PhD student so life gets pretty chaotic sometimes but it's always an exciting time. I mostly sew for my son and daughter with the occasional make for my husband and I. I am honored to be a part of the Sewing Hub community and I look forward to walking with you along your sewing journey!

About Me

Hi sewing friends! I’m Amy, and I live in southeast Wisconsin. I’ve been sewing most of my life, starting when I was small sewing Barbie and doll clothing with my grandma, working on wedding dresses with mom, quilts, and more. When my second child was born, I decided to make more trendy boy items for him, launching a business in bibs and booties, and quickly then full scale clothing. I’ve in most recent years closed business to sew full time for my family of 6, and take care of my medically complex kiddo and his needs. My older boys are 11&9, and my little diva is 4, with baby rounding us out at 1.5 years. My husband and myself live with our kiddos on a farm with horses, chickens, many cats, and now, a puppy! Giving back to the sewing community is part of my most joyful sewing. I love helping others make their machines usable for their sewing needs, troubleshooting and cheering people on from all around the globe, and celebrating sewing success and even the best failures- (anyone else sew a sleeve to a neck hole?) The Hub is giving us a diverse, celebratory environment full of encouragement, praise, and real support. I find joy in helping others, so I’m here if you need a hand, a cheer, or even for quick questions, and to help cultivate our sewing community. I have loved sewing ourselves sustainable over the last 10 years, including cloth napkins, wipes, un-paper towels, lunch bags, sandwich bags, clothing, cloth diapers, unders, and of course, our clothes. I live on coffee, dairy free dark chocolates, and tagging all our outfits. I have a small library collection in our home, and read tons of books in my downtime.

About Me

Hi! I’m Summer, and I am Taiwanese. I have 2 beautiful living children and 2 sweet children in heaven. I am a stay at home mom, own a small handmade children clothing shop, do translation work from home and also started our homeschool journey this year. My life is chaotic, but I am grateful that I can spend a lot of time being with my kids. I started to sew almost 4 years ago when my second son was about 11 months old. I thought it would be fun to make some matching clothes for my two sons. I realized I could also sew something for my oldest son to wear so he could enjoy more clothes for his special needs. Since then, I have fallen in love with sewing. I like making clothes for my kids, my husband, and others and started my little shop in 2020. I love sewing because it’s not only therapeutic but it also became my love language to express my care for people around me. My other hobbies include baking (recently I love making sourdough bread a lot), and hiking. The sewing hub has a special place in my heart because I have met a lot of wonderful sewing friends here and been inspired by many talented makers. I can’t wait to get to know you more through this group. Thank you for being here!

About Me

Hi! I’m Marci, I’m a hairdresser by day, a seamstress by night, and a wife and mom somewhere in between it all. I’m a life long Pacific Northwester, and I love all the beauty that Oregon has to offer! My mom made a lot of my outfits growing up, and I always loved them, and loved the compliments I got when I wore them. She taught me to sew when I was in middle school, and I’ve done knickknack-y things all throughout life. Then, in the midst of Covid my then 3 year old finally grew out of her 12-18 month summer clothes , and I didn’t know what to do. I had made some masks, and she actually let me sew (she likes a lot of attention, even still at 7, that’s why I can only sew at night. ) so I thought might as well make her some things! So now, 4 years later, my tiny stash in the corner of my closet has grown to take up a whole wall in our sun room, which is now my sewing room. I’ve also gotten into bag making, but don’t do that as much as I’d like, because there aren’t enough hours in a day. My daughter has gotten to a point where’s she’s getting a lot more opinionated about what she wears, so I have to get her approval before I make something. That’s making random nighttime sews a lot more difficult. And adding more pressure on her to make decisions. I’m also starting to sew more for myself, which I love. I always find myself grabbing me made from my closet, first. I’m excited to see everyone’s creations, and can’t wait to watch this group grow and get to know you all!

About Me

Hello! I’m Victoria Strong. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom of three (two girls and a boy) and the wife of a fighter pilot. I started sewing 19 years ago with my Nana making quilts and stuffed bears. In high school, my passion for sewing garments was ignited, however, I lacked the necessary skills to sew the kind of clothes I like to wear. My prayers therefore were answered when I got pregnant with my first girlie. I started sewing clothes for her through my pregnancy and ever since. My favourite thing to sew is costumes, and (themed) girls dresses and I LOVE a good slow sew. As an adult, I have many passions: motherhood, teaching preschoolers, sewing, photography, party planning, and social media. It’s no wonder I love it here at The Sewing Hub. Currently located in Quebec, I’m working on my bilingualism. Come say bonjour

About Me

Hiya, I’m Kim! I’m a Bluey obsessed, Pennsylvania native currently residing in the suburbs of the Twin Cities raising two tiny humans (bro 7 & princess 4) by day and cooking up delicious dishes at a local grill by night. I received my first simple sewing machine when I was about 7, and 30 years later I still haven’t looked back. Woven fabrics have always had my heart, but I branched out to knits about 3 years ago when I received a serger as a gift and my passion for upcycling was ignited! When I’m not scrolling social media looking for sewing inspiration or engaging in pattern testing, I enjoy working out, diamond art painting, EDM, being a soccer & hockey mom, and spending time with my husband staying up way too late. I love the online family I have made through the sewing community and the close friends I have met through The Sewing Hub. I am so happy to be here and I can’t wait to see you flourish! An interesting fact about me: In 2008 I was deployed to Iraq as a member of a Combat Repair Team. My Military Occupational Specialty was a Small Arms & Artillery Repairman

About Me

Hello I’m Sara and I live in Ohio! I have been sewing for a year. I took some sewing classes in high school and my mom taught me some things along the way but I only started seriously sewing when I wanted to make clothing for my daughter. I am a Stay-at-home mom to my daughter, Naomi, who is three years old and is constantly running around. Somedays I barely have time to sew but I always make room for it because it helps me de-stress. I struggle with depression and anxiety and sewing has helped me deal with both. I primarily sew for my daughter (which I love) and I also sew for myself. My other hobbies include spending time with my Husband and family. I also enjoy watching College Football and NFL during the fall and winter months. We love sports in our family. I love being a part of the Sewing community it has really helped me learn and grow. Every day I am inspired by someone in The Sewing Hub. I can’t wait to continue to learn and become a better sewist.

About Me

Hi! I’m Lotoria. I’m a stay-at-home mom of five (three boys and two girls) and the wife of my high school sweet heart. I took interest in sewing after I had my second daughter. I had hopes in having my grandmother teach me but due to medical conditions she wasn’t able. But she did the next best thing and gave me a sewing machine she never used. After I tried to thread it the first time and had issues learning to work it, I just let it collect dust for a few years. But I eventually blew the dust off and went to YouTube university, where I learned not only how to thread the machine but create beautiful stitches that creates clothes. I’ve now been sewing consistently for about a little over a year. I mainly sew for my three younger children and occasionally for family. Something that I thought would just be a hobby and outlet has grown into a passion of mines really quick. I’m so honored to be a part of “The Sewing Hub” community amongst great women who has this same passion. Everyone is an inspiration in this group and it’s a never-ending learning journey we are on. I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow with you all!

About Me

Hi! I’m Crystal and I’m a homeschool mama to my two boys, one baby girl, and one angel baby in Heaven. I started sewing about two years ago shortly after I found out I was having a baby girl and have never looked back (no really, I have a whole closet full of fabric to prove it)! I absolutely love sewing clothes for my little girl, my boys, and my husband… if he’s lucky. When I see them wear what I make, my heart just bursts with so much joy! There is just something about having your family wear your me-made clothes, ya know? Sewing has been such a rewarding therapy for me because it gives me an outlet to release my creative side. Aside from sewing, I also enjoy making greeting cards, hair bows, earrings, and baked goods. If any of these things are interests of yours too, come say hi! I love to make new sewing friends!

About Me

Hello - I’m Michelle and I have a severe addiction to fabrics, notions, and trims. I have been sewing for about 25 years so you can imagine my collection. I dove into garment sewing after my first daughter was born. I found the fit of ready-to-wear baby clothing for her atrocious. I had my own issues with body image and store brand fit throughout my life and I really didn’t want that for her….and so from there I soaked in all I could to design for her, and ultimately a full-time business evolved for me. Over the past 9 years, I’ve seen my designs span customers across the world and it’s incredibly exciting!! I specialize in customized fits in over-the-top whimsical styles of dresses and swimwear for littles to teens. My growth as a designer is in large part due to others sharing about their experiences online in sewing and so giving back to the Hub is important to me. I love sharing techniques and learning more about this art of ours that has so many possibilities. I’m here for all the ups and downs that come with sewing for ourselves, our families, and our businesses. So what are we sewing next?
